In 2009 Volkswagen Group Rus became the automobile partner of the Olympic Winter games in Sochi. As a Russian automobile manufacturer we want to make a contribution to the country's modernization and are proud to represent Russia on the international level.
The Olympic Games serve for the dialog of nations and contribute to the development of the whole region. The Olympic idea agrees with our self-conception as an enterprise with social responsibility. With our sponsoring activities we want to help to generate economical growth.
The support of Olympic Games has a tradition at Volkswagen Group. Volkswagen Group China was an exclusive car partner and national sponsor of the Olympic Games in Peking 2008. The brand Seat was partner of the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. Audi Russia provided cars for Olympic team and the members of official delegation representing Russia on XX Olympic Games in Turin.

On the first International Paralympic Day in Russia, VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus, the general partner of the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games, presented its modern solutions in equipping cars for people with disabilities to the members of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and guests at the celebration.

18.09.2009 The Russian branch of the Europe’s largest car manufacturer, Volkswagen Group, has been awarded Tier One Partner status for the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
