VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus and Organizing committee "Sochi-2014" announce road show throughout Russia
VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus started in Vancouver first projects as a partner of Olympic games in 2014 in Sochi. The company uniting the brands Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi and Volkswagen commercial vehicles has taken part in the organizing of the project "Sochi 2014 Russky Dom". The brand Volkswagen has brought to Vancouver the car Volkswagen Tiguan, on which the Russian medal winners left their signatures.
"At Volkswagen Group we have a tradition in supporting Olympic games. 2008 we supported the Olympic games in Beijing in 2008 and provided 6000 vehicles for the transportation of guests and organizers of this event. As a Russian automobile manufacturer we want to make a contribution to the country's modernization. For the Sochi games we will not only provide cars from Russian production but also our experience in organizing transportation", - sais Dietmar Korzekwa, general director of VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus.
VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus will handover the first cars as part of the sponsorship agreement to the Organizing Committee "Sochi-2014" in April and May 2010", - says Martin Jahn, vice general director of Volkswagen Group Rus. First 40 cars of brands Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi and Volkswagen commercial vehicles will be used by the Organizing committee in Moscow and Sochi. Altogether the company will provide more than 3000 vehicles.
Next project in the partnership of Volkswagen Group Rus and Organizing committee "Sochi-2014" will be a road show in Russian cities. The goal of this campaign will be nation engagement for the Olympic and Paralympic Games of 2014 in Sochi.
The president of Organizing committee "Sochi 2014" Dmitry Chernyshenko has noted: "the Success of the Games in many aspects depends on active participation of partners in their preparation. VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus has started realization of the marketing programs practically right after signings of the partner agreement. I am sure that the allrussian road show will become a real campaign and will promote Olympic and Paralympic values in the whole country".
The road show will start this summer in Sochi and already in the first year will involve major Russian cities including Moscow and Saint-Petersburg and also Kaluga, the city where the plant of VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus is located. The road show will visit more than 30 cities. The campaign will be carried out for 3.5 years and finish right before the start of the torch relay.
The road show will bring the symbol of Olympic victories of the Russian team in Vancouver to every city – the car Volkswagen Tiguan with signatures of Russian Olympic champions. Also in the road show will be used cars and vehicles of Volkswagen Group Rus brands – Volkswagen, Skoda, Volkswagen commercial vehicles. In the events will take part Russian Olympic champions and famous sportsmen.
