“Volkswagen Group Rus” continues its success story in Russia and announces the beginning of preparations for launching the production of ŠKODA Rapid at the company plant in Kaluga.

Igor Sechin, the President of Rosneft Oil Company OJSC, and Marcus Osegowitsch, the General Director of VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus, have signed an agreement on developing the sales market for compressed natural gas and the market for vehicles with engines running on compressed natural gas (CNG) in Russia.

The quality of new vehicles made by the Kaluga plant is ensured by dedicated production processes including the quality control process for finished vehicles, rather than by guarantees given by individual persons.

Wolkswagen Aktiengesellschaft recorded a satisfactory overall performance in a challenging market environment in the first quarter of 2013. Sales revenue remained largely stable in the first three months of the year at €46.6 billion (January – March 2012: €47.3 billion).
